Everyone thinks that healthcare equals being a doctor or a nurse. And while these professions do exist in the health service, there are so many more than that! This page looks at the career options you might have heard of before, and other areas that were new to us!

The University of Worcester has provided us several documents looking at different professions in the health service, some of them we’ve never heard of! They give information on what these jobs are, qualifications needed and where you could study these qualifications in the West Midlands. Why not check them out!

Please note that most of these leaflets from the University of Worcester below were last updated in May 2018. Courses, etc. may have changed since then, however, they are great at giving you an idea of what you can do and how to get there! As Careers Fayre is constantly being updated, when these leaflets are changed, we will update the page with them. Please download them to view the leaflets you’re interested in.

Ellis is a Nursing student who loves to talk about her experiences of her course. Below is a video from UniFest 2020 (which is a summer school opportunity for Year 10 students in the West Midlands region run in partnership with Aimhigher West Midlands and universities in the area) with Ellis (and her lovely dog, Zelda!) on her experiences returning to education to do Nursing.

Learn better while reading? Ellis also wrote a blog for us at the start of her second year of study, talking about her experiences applying to university and what her experiences are like studying during the Covid-19 pandemic. You can read her blog below.
